Vincent and Don McNeil, When I listen to music, especially English music, I try to find out the meaning behind the songs I like. All the songs written by the songwriters probably have some story behind them. We listeners love the lyrics or melody and keep listening to them again and again, but we usually don’t know the meaning of the lyrics or when and why the song was written.Ā “Vincent and Don McNeil”
Many people have interpreted the lyrics of the song “Haat Chhaira Dao Sonar Deora” which became popular a few days ago, but the actual fact is that Baitha Baite Baite, after hearing the pain in the hand of Baitha Baite Baite, asked his wife to release Baitha from his hand.
In the case of Bengali songs, the story behind the popular songs is not known much, but the information about the famous English songs on the web can be known. One of my favourite artists is Don McNeil, born October 2, 1945, an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. Known to fans as the “American Troubadour” or “King of the Trail”, he sang Vincent and American Pie, two of my favourite songs.
I don’t know much about painting myself, but I like to look at Van Gogh’s pictures, two days ago I was listening to music at night, and I suddenly wanted to listen to Vincent, and Don McNeill singing Starry Starry Night in his magical magical voice, paint up the palette blue and green, the words are poetic, every line. At the end of the rhythm and the wonderful melody, the song was originally written about Van Gogh, coincidentally while listening to the song I am wearing a t-shirt with a Van Gogh painting. I thought I knew the story behind the song.
The easiest way to know is to Google, so I did. I got some information from Wikipedia and Bangla Roar Media. I am writing a little about Vincent Gunn and Van Gogh’s pictures, arranging them in my own way, all the information I have copied directly from those sources has been used in quotation marks.
1. The story behind the Song with pictures Vincent and Don McNeil
—————–
“The Starry Night” is a famous oil painting by the Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Although neither he nor the painting was famous when it arrived, Van Gogh’s life was difficult until the end of his life. Van Gogh self-mutilated his left ear on December 23, 1988, as a result of mental illness, and on May 4, 1989, he was voluntarily admitted to the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole Asylum. Van Gogh painted the scene with the addition of an imaginary village from the east-facing window of his asylum (originally a lunatic asylum) in Saint-RĆ©my-de-Provence just before sunrise in June 1889.
The image seems to capture all the sadness of his life. He loved to work with bright colors in his early life, the paintings of that time were also an expression of his relatively strong mentality. But later in life when mental problems surround him, his work also shows depression. Darkness replaces brightness. ‘Starry Night’ was no exception. There was an excess of blue in the night context in this painting. Behind the picture of a village painted in grey and blue were the sky and mountains. Van Gogh carefully decorated the moon and stars in yellow and white.
Vincent Van Gogh committed suicide shortly after completing The Starry Night. His painting period was very short. Only ten to twelve years. But in this short time, he painted a lot of pictures. At his death, he left to his brother about eight hundred paintings on canvas and about seven to eight hundred drawings on paper. Among these popular films, apart from ‘The Starry Night’, there are also ‘Self Portrait of Vincent Van Gogh’, ‘Sunflowers’, ‘Cafe Terrace at Night’, ‘Wheat Field with Cypresses’, etc.

The song Vincent is based on Van Gogh’s Starry Night. Don McLean told the story behind the song in an interview with The Daily Telegraph on February 24, 2010. McLean said he came across Van Gogh’s biography while sitting on the porch of a school in Stockbridge. Affects. Maclean felt a strange sympathy for the man whose talent was not appreciated throughout his life.
The attempts of contemporaries to give the artist’s mental problems a form of failure in love also made him attracted to Van Gogh. McLean himself was upset at the time. He was not getting along with his wife Carol Savion. As a result, he was not in good mental condition. He later said in an interview that perhaps this is why he felt a strange connection with Van Gogh.”
3. Vincent and Don McNeil, Meaning of song lyrics
……… …. …………
The words used in this song are like a poem depicting the life, work, and death of Vincent Van Gogh in simple words with a great melody. The lyrics to Paint your palette blue-green reflect the predominant colors in Van Gogh’s paintings and perhaps refer to Vincent’s habit of sucking or biting his paintbrush while working.
The lines “Ragged man in ragged clothes and how you tried to set them free” convey Van Gogh’s humanitarian action and love for the social outcasts which is also reflected can McLean is a Practicing Catholic, and has written songs such as “Jerusalem” and “Sister Fatima” that relate to his faith.
